So far am loving my classes! It is so fun to be learning about things that I am interested in! Since I am now actually taking classes for my major and we are talking a lot about teaching I have thought a lot about actually being a teacher. I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher, but I don't know how much I ever thought about having my own class and actually teaching. One of the things that I am most excited about is the opportunity to make a difference in children's lives. I can't wait to see the light bulb go on when they grasp a concept. For those who may not have the loving home environment that I grew up in, I hope to be a positive loving influence in their life!
At BYU we have all sorts of wonderful opportunities to hear great speakers. Last Sunday there was a fireside in honor of 4th of July and Steve Young was the speaker. His words also caused me to think about making a difference. He said something that I absolutely loved, "the constitution guarantees our rights, but the constitution does not guarantee our actions." He asked the question: "From this day forward how are we going to treat each other?" Steve Young talked about how we are all different. There never has been someone exactly like you and there never will be. I am unique, and I am in control of my actions. I can choose to act in such a way that I can make a difference in other peoples lives. What great power that is that Heavenly Father has given us. I only hope that I can make the right decisions each and every day and that I can be a positive influence on others.
