We live in world that is full of deception. We are often led to believe that things are one way, when in reality they are another. A funny example of this happened in the last few days. Yesterday a woman called on the phone, she was asking about women's shoes in a size 5. I could tell that she was from Greece because of her accent. She set up an appointment to come in today. Today she called again to get directions before she came in. When she came in, she was not a she, it was a man and he was a dwarf(is that term politically correct? I don't know...). Anyways, as I thought about his experience I just thought about how things aren't always what we think thy are. Satan plays a huge part in our world today. He makes things look glamorous and fun when in the long run they may bring pain and suffering.
Another example of deception can be found in the difference between the MBT shoes and the Sketcher Shape Ups (I am going to be so glad when my analogies no longer have to do with shoes and feet!!!!) Today I had a lady come in with a picture of a white shape up that she wanted...I explained to her the difference between the shape ups and the MBT's a how the shape ups would last 3-6 months while the MBT's would last a year to a year and a half because they are better quality... Most people do not understand this - they see that he shape ups are cheaper, they think they are the same thing and then they pay 100 dollars for them...3 months later when they are worn down they realize that if hey had payed a little more up front they would have had a better shoe that would have lasted longer.
Because we live in a world where not everything is as it appears to be, the spirit is of great importance. It is our tool, we can use it t lead us and guide us. If we live worthy of it, keep it with us, and listen to it, we will not be led astray despite the deception that surrounds us.
Life is great! I worked 51 hours this week, and am tired, but I am so lucky, life is so good, and I am going to ARUBA with my family in a week!!!
