So...last week proved to be little bit of a struggle. I don't exactly know why, but I just couldn't handle it. One of the greatest blessings we have in this life is our free agency. No one is controlling us, we have complete control of ourselves. When my siblings and I were younger it often happened that one sibling would do something to make another act out or be upset. Dad would reprimand the one acting out, and they would respond: "it's not my fault, he/she made me do it." Dad always loved this response and laughed and said: "oh, so he/she controls you? You can't control yourself?" How grateful I am for free agency and for the fact that for the most part, we each choose who we want to be. We can choose to be friendly and nice, we can choose to be happy and we can choose to be positive. Last week, I didn't do the best job of that, but if we don't have hard weeks (for whatever reason they may come) then we don't have opportunities to stretch ourselves and to grow.
Enough of last week. This week, is completely opposite, and it is amazing! My family and I are in ARUBA!!!!! The motto of the island which is on all of their license plates is, "One Happy Island" and that it is. Aruba is beautiful! We are having fun just relaxing (something we have all needed). We sleep in, we snorkel and swim, lay in the sun...basically whatever we want, whenever we want, all day long, every day! No worrying about waking up and going to work, or about going to the bank or the post office.
I am one happy Katrina, on one happy Island! I am going to enjoy every minute I get, because next week Mitch leaves for the MTC and it is back to work. Then the week after that it is back to school, and the start of a new job (hopefully) for me...but right now I am not going to think about any of that. I must going to enjoy this beautiful island, and the time I have with my family. I am lovin life!
