The Life of a College Student

With 18 credits, school seems to keep me pretty busy so I savor the quiet moments that I get. Since the weather has been nice lately sometimes I take the long way home just so i can walk in peace and quiet and think.

For one of my assignments in one of my classes this semester we had to earn how to do something. I decided to learn how to make pies. Tonight in order to work on that assignment I made an apple pie. I had institute so I didn't start until 8:45 when I got home. I loved just sitting and slicing the apples for the pie, just sitting and thinking and trying not to be too stressed about the decisions that I am trying to make right now.

It is now 11:30, my pie is almost done, and it is filling my whole apartment with a sweet aroma. When it comes out, I will let it cool for a while and then I will eat a piece with vanilla ice cream on top in the comfort of my apartment : )

After my midnight snack I will go to bed and get a good nights sleep. I look forward to waking up in the morning and listening to the words of living prophets and apostles from this past conference found at the conference website: http://lds.org/general-conference?lang=eng and reading my scriptures. Following that I will go to the temple.

Life has been busy this semester, I am grateful for the quiet moments while I am walking to and from school, making an apple pie, or sitting in the temple where I have the opportunity to sit and ponder and realize how blessed I truly am.

I'm a college girl, with a busy schedule and lots to do, and I love it! As hard as some days can be, I wouldn't have it any other way. What a blessing it is to be able to be getting a college education in something that I absolutely love and have a passion for!

Today as I was thinking about some of the challenges that will be coming up in my life I was reminded of a quote that I heard at a meeting at the beginning of this school year. "We fought for the privilege of having a difficult experience." How true that is! I fought to come to this earth, I came knowing that there would be challenges. It is now my responsibility to do the best that I can every day and to live with faith, I know that I can do it!

I'm living life and loving it!
